NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - Kenya's opposition is calling for nationwide
rallies later this week after accusing the government of backing
away from plans to share power.
The opposition Orange Democratic Movement and the government are
trying to negotiate an end a deadly dispute over deeply flawed
presidential elections.
The opposition Orange Democratic Movement plans a protest Thursday,
and on Monday filed a document giving police the required three
days' notice for any mass gathering. Past opposition rallies have
descended into violence.
