crisis yet, Annan says

Nairobi - Kenya's rival parties agreed Friday to a swathe of
reforms meant to solve the underlying causes of the crisis that
was sparked by disputed elections, but failed to come to a
political settlement.
Mediator and former United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan
set a 72-hour deadline for the parties to find a political
solution, pushing for a grand coalition, but the sides did not
agree on time.
The agreement signed after two days at a private meeting at a
safari resort will see judicial, electoral, constitutional and
parliamentary reforms to be completed in at least one year.
