President Kibaki’s son, Jimmy, has dismissed claims that he was shot by his mother, Lucy.

Speaking for the first time since the swearing-in of his father, Jimmy said he was in "robust health" and that nobody had shot him.

Jimmy denied the rumour three weeks after it touched town. Said he: "I’m here to dispel rumours that I was shot. As you can see I’m in good health and indeed my doctors have advised me to cut down weight."

Jimmy’s denial comes only days after Imenti Central MP, Mr Gitobu Imanyara, claimed the First Lady assaulted him at State House.
