January 18 - a day to remember
in Kenya 16 years ago
Nairobi - 18. Jan. 2008 - WTN -
In 1992 to the date more than 100 000 people attended Kenya's
first legal anti-government rally in 22 years.
Since 1960 when the British
colonial rule passed the reigns of power to the Kenyan
neo-colonial rulers, no mass protests had been possible.
Today, 16 years after that first success of people's democracy,
Kenya is back to square one:
Governance-ordered police, GSU and army brutality kills the hard
won flowers of real democracy, with security forces killing
randomly their own brothers and sisters.
